V. Kumar Receives Distinguished Scholar Award
ATLANTA – V. Kumar, Regents’ Professor and executive director of the Center for Excellence in Brand & Customer Management at Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business, received the 2016 Society for Marketing Advances (SMA) Distinguished Scholar Award at the organization’s annual conference, recently held in Atlanta.
Kumar is among the world’s most prolific marketing scholars, with more than 250 papers in leading scholarly journals including the Harvard Business Review, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, and Marketing Science; and books including Profitable Customer Engagement, Managing Customers for Profit, Customer Relationship Management and Customer Lifetime Value.
In addition to leading the Center for Excellence in Brand & Customer Management, Kumar directs Robinson’s Ph.D. program in marketing. He holds the Richard and Susan Lenny Distinguished Chair in Marketing and has now been recognized with 13 lifetime achievement awards for many areas including marketing strategy, inter-organizational issues, research methods, retailing, and business-to-business marketing. He has been chosen as a Legend in Marketing where his work is published in a 10-volume encyclopedia with commentaries from scholars worldwide.
